A Message From Our Pastor
Dear Members and Friends:
A church is not simply a building that is filled with bibles, hymn books, special rooms and religious articles. The most beautiful church is one that is full with worshippers working together demonstrating exceptional faith, determination, and commitment. In 2003 we began a process to build a new church. We started this journey because we are a beautiful church of worshippers working together, demonstrating exceptional faith, determination and commitment. The good hand of the Lord has been upon us, and he has prospered us by his grace so that on April 6, 2012, we completed the payment of our church in 7 years and 9 months. We have marked one of the brightest and glorious days in the history of Mount Calvary #2. We could not have reached this glorious and blessed time without the service, faithful prayers and contributions of our leaders, auxiliaries, members, families and friends. We are very grateful to those who made substantial contributions, We are just as grateful to all those smaller contributions — together representing an important collective effort. We also give thanks for the memory of those who have gone before us in this place. Their names are forever embedded in our church’s history. Some planted, others watered and God gave the increase, while we today have the privilege of harvesting their efforts so that Mt. Calvary #2 might continue from one generation to another. History regarding our membership and their contributions have generally been well documented. We thought it would be helpful to dedicate this document to the history of the acquiring of land and the three buildings we have occupied. This will be important information to pass on to the next generation. In closing, we will continue to face challenges that often seem hard to overcome, but I am assured that God is in control and will continue to lead us day by day no matter what the challenge. As we move forward, we want to maintain a healthy house of worship that spreads the spirit of charity and provides help to those in need. Let us just keep moving at the speed of God! REV. JAMES L.
